Arc B580 as an eGPU

Current setup: CL 43580, Intel Arc B580 eGPU on an Aoostar AG02 dock via Thunderbolt 4 to my LG Gram laptop.

The story: At some point in time earlier (not sure exactly when, maybe one or two months?), I did manage to make the above setup work (… sort of). At any rate, it does not currently work, and I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I found an AI-generated tutorial that seems to be geared toward Oculink and AMD cards, so it doesn’t look to me to be very useful.

The question: has anything noteworthy happened in the meantime in the CL world (dropped B580 drivers?, dropped relevant Linux kernel modules? etc.) that has rendered my setup above non-functional? It looks to me that the Aoostar dock might not even be detected (though, indeed, it does seem to charge the laptop).

Any diagnostic steps that I should be undertaking?

Just checked, and boltctl does show the AG02 dock just fine. So it’s all down to the B580 now. How can I make that work?

kernel moved from 6.14.8 → 6.15.1 on 43580
maybe rolling back the kernel is the answer?

Is there a way to roll back only the kernel for CL?

CL keeps two kernels on update (latest and last installed), so you should have both when you spam del (its the key that let you go to the boot menu thing where you can edit (e) kernel params on boot)

Thanks. Will give it a go. Otherwise, here’s the post about this that I made in CL Github Issues.
