Can't install Clear Linux (drm, amdgpu, SADs)

Hello,

I wanted to install Clear Linux on my main machine (i5, RX 580, 8GB) but i get a weird error whenever i boot the live desktop from a USB key. I tried to burn the ISO (both 32370 and 32380) on my USB key using dd then Etcher but i always get the same result while booting :

This screen stays for a few seconds and then the live environment appears. I can run the installer just fine but when i reboot i get the same error and it doesn’t go further. I don’t have the same error when install another distro’s ISO. I assume it is tied to my machine but it is too low level for me to understand what is wrong ?

Any ideas ?

Thanks in advance.

EDID caps are bits that the monitor/panel sends to your GPU to tell about it’s size and pixels. It shouldn’t be an issue otherwise you wouldn’t see the live environment (which I assume is the gnome live desktop, but, your message isn’t detailed enough).

After installation, can you alt-f2 and get a login prompt? Read the journalctl output?

Back !

Okay so i tried to reinstall Clear Linux but this time I created the partitions myself instead of using destructive method (in the meantime I installed Solus as a backup plan so i didnt want to erase it just in case). The installation went fine.
I rebooted and the weird error message didnt appear this time and i was greeted by the gnome display manager. Everything seems to work fine now. I don’t know why the error didnt show up this time. The only things that are different is that there is another distro on the drive and that i did a manual partitioning to install Clear Linux.

I assume you don’t need the journalctl output anymore but i post it just in case you see something weird that I should be aware of.

I will setup Clear Linux and hopefully in a few days I will be ready to do a full install on the whole drive.
