Hi. I have no thumbnails in Nautilus for PNG files, although JPEGs show up fine. Is this exclusive to me, or is it a wider problem? (I can’t find much about this problem from googling - one other person I’ve found posted a question about it in an Ubuntu forum in February but nobody answered.)
It’s not just you
There is a bug report on GitHub. If you have any additional details, please add them there:
Thanks. My situation is different from either the original poster or the commenters so I have added a comment. It turns out after further exploration that some of my TIFF and JPEG files produce thumbnails while others don’t.
Many file types don’t have thumbnails in Clear Linux whatever the file manager is
Did you try XFE yet ?
you can add them in if you can be bothered.
I added in webp to a previous installation.
some bookmarks I have :

What is your favorite file manager?
Nemo is my favorite
I’ve managed to install it on Clear Linux by downloading it from Fedora’s .rpm package
Good choice. It’s fast and lightweight, like Thunar and PCmanFM.
Most flexible and configurable still is Dolphin. It’s a pitty it has so many dependencies.
