Does anyone know how to install Microsoft SQL Server for Linux on Clear Linux? What 3rd-party repo would one add of the ones MS offers?

Try using a version made for a more common Linux distro, if that doesnt work, I would try looking up a different SQL service. Clear Linux is specifically built for enterprise grade cloud management solutions so there is bound to be an SQL server platform compatible with it.

Docker version is available. It will get you a good result for now until a more native solution is available.
