Perl 5.30 released

Clear Linux release 32090 includes a Perl upgrade from 5.28.2 to 5.30.1. All of the Perl modules we provide with the distribution have also been upgraded to match. If you’ve installed any on your own, though, e.g. from CPAN, then you’ll need to upgrade them, too.

In the short term, the current perl binary will also search for pure Perl modules in /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.28.2, so you’ll have a little bit of leeway. Unfortunately, XS modules (those with a compiled library, which would be installed under arch-specific sub-directory x86_64-linux-thread-multi) are not binary compatible with Perl 5.30, so they’ll have to be rebuilt anyway.
