Funny boot screen

What do you guys think it’s happening here? Currently stuck in a boot loop.

sddm → gdm → ???
probably desktop-autostart bundle? but if thats already been removed, best to check your journal logs by going to a TTY (ctrl + alt + f5)

Looks like desktop-autostart is, indeed, installed. Is that bad? Should I remove it? Btw, it looks like this happens only when the computer is connected to a Thunderbolt (5?) docking station.

Edit: indeed, I can reliably boot in a “normal” fashion if after I click reboot I turn off the docking station, let the system boot, and after a few minutes (… I usually keep the lid closed, so I don’t exactly know what is happening …) after I am confident that the laptop has booted, I turn on the docking station, and thus I get the regular boot screen on my desktop monitors. Go figure!

And here’s the log during booting with the docking station on, just to see what might be going wrong.

desktop-autostart is used for gdm so that it starts. if you’re using sddm, it should be removed.
