I don’t know about the 49xx printer/scanner, but my scanner has an LCD screen where I can select “Scan” and then “Scan to network”. In the web frontend of the printer, I can configure it to log on a samba share. On my local network, I have a share where the printer has its own login and can upload scans to the samba share, and various computers on my network can see the Samba share.
Setting up a samba share is relatively simple, there are hundreds of guides on the internet, one just has to google for it.
