Kernel panic boot some machines

I had been updating my usb ssd at work for maybe 1 year. The usb worked in every computer that I had access to until maybe October. It refuses to boot at home computers or Virtualbox.
It does boot on 3 work computers that don’t seem to have anything in common. It is encrypted so I put in phrase and on my home it has list of issues and locks up.
Kernel panic not syncing… attempted to kill init!.. exitcode 07f00

Any ideas on how to solve this?

I thought the swupd repair the other day might have solved it but no dice. Ran filesystem check. Mounts in Ubuntu and I can access files. Can’t mount in CL, just dumps usb after using phrase.

Did something drastic change in October?

Work computers run as if nothing is wrong.

I have the same issue on one of my machines. I am going to investigate further when I get the time. The error indicates that init (systemd) is failing to start or exiting with an error on boot.

Thanks.

I have been looking at the issue. Because some boot most of the online ideas are not applicable.
