We will be removing ISC’s DHCP daemon from the distribution shortly. The upstream package has been discontinued and unmaintained for nearly a year (see ISC DHCP - ISC), and unfortunately has accumulated multiple CVEs that will never be addressed.
The same bundle that provided dhcpd
, pxe-server, also provides dnsmasq
, which is a DHCP server, caching DNS proxy, and a TFTP server, if so desired – all the things needed to implement an iPXE server in a subnet.
