Support for AMDGPU-PRO

Hello! I am jumping to PlaidML and it requires AMDGPU PRO to be installed. AMD currently supports Ubuntu, CentOS, SUSE, and others. Can Clearlinux jump on too? How can I install it on my Clearlinux machine?

What is it? Do you have links to the project you’re talking about?

Hey there!!
I think he is referring to this: https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/radeon-500-series/radeon-rx-500-series/radeon-rx-570
AMDGPU PRO - ArchWiki
Bye!

From the archlinux wiki:

The amdgpu-pro-installer contains proprietary components for AMDGPU

In short, this does not meet our inclusion requirements.

That doesn’t make any sense. Why does Clear work with NVIDIA proprietary drivers then?

The proprietary NVIDIA drivers are not included in Clear Linux OS either. The community has helped document an installation process for users to install them in a way that minimizes, but doesn’t eliminate, conflicts with the OS.

There is an open help request on GitHub to do the same for AMDGPU PRO drivers but there hasn’t been much demand since the open source driver satisfies the needs of most.

As for the generic question of “why you haven’t do XXX”, the generic answer is “if you want XXX, why not do it yourself”.

Because not everyone is able to.

Then just start learning.
