Alright guys, let’s revive this one: did anyone manage to connect to 6GHz WiFi networks with an unadulterated CL installation–meaning no tweaks, no loading of special drivers … no nuffink?
What WiFi adapter are you using? AX210/AX211?
If so, is CL loading the latest driver for ‘iwlwifi’
If AX series, do you have the firmware for the radio that matches the kernel level?

I actually have two Mediatek MT7921au-based USB adapters, none of which sees the 6GHz WiFi band. The FW installation instructions specify that the latest FW needs to be downloaded from here, and placed in /lib/firmware/mediatek, replacing what may already be there. The problem is that that folder (which is actually /usr/lib/firmware/mediatek in CL(!)) contains only .bin.xz archives, whereas the firmware I downloaded is in .bin format. As such, I tried converting all the downloaded .bin files into .bin.xz, and then I placed them in that folder, though that didn’t seem to do the trick. I am, thus, not sure if I did the bin-to-bin.xz conversion properly.
As for the embedded WiFi card, lshw shows Raptor Lake PCH CNVi WiFi, which I am not sure what Intel WiFi module is (210 or 211).

Clear Linux 40360 contains linux-firmware 20231111 in the appropriately-named bundle linux-firmware, which is the latest available from kernel/git/firmware/linux-firmware.git - Repository of firmware blobs for use with the Linux kernel as of this writing. I don’t think lack of firmware is your problem.

This article suggests patching the iwlwifi driver to add the PCI device ID 0x51F1. Our current kernel, 6.6.1, already has this:

Looks like it was added upstream in June, landing in a 6.5 RC.

Looks like, for the Intel wireless device, you have the right stuff. It appears to be authenticating and associating ok, so maybe it’s just disconnecting randomly? Next thing I’d look at would be tweaking some of the power management settings for it, like the iwlwifi module options at the end of this specific comment:

Unfortunately I don’t actually know anything about that part, so your Google-fu is as good as mine.
I’m curious what your Mediatek USB adapters look like when the driver tries to load their firmware.
The interesting fact is that the adapter works absolutely fine vis-a-vis all wireless networks except(!) the 6GHz band. I have no problems connecting to 2.4GHz, 5GHz, yet it doesn’t see any 6GHz networks. Nothing.
Edit: If I move very close to the router, I do manage to see the 6GHz network (see below), albeit quite fleetingly, though I just cannot connect to it. (Savanna6 is the 6GHz access point.)
