Clear Linux Website Issue

Could someone enlighten me as to why the Clear Linux website has stopped responding?
I have tried disabling my adblocking software as well as trying Firefox (I’m currently using Brave).

Every search results in a ‘Sorry, no results for xyz’! Clicking on any of the software categories listed on the left-hand side returns ‘No results’!

What is going on here - this isn’t the first time I’ve had issues with this site, and having to use a different browser just to access one website is moronic.

Anyone have a solution?
Thanks.

Yes, we are aware of the situation, and unfortunately the people that knew how it was set up are no longer able to help us. We do have a potential solution and are working to get that deployed - hopefully without breaking anything else.

Everything seems to be working again…

Glad to hear it - thanks to Kevin for chasing it down and to our infrastructure team for sorting it out. Let us know if anything else on the website needs updating.

Today the link https://clearlinux.org/software says:

The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later.

Looks like there are some issues with the download page…

https://clearlinux.github.io/clear-linux-documentation/latest/get-started/bootable-usb.html
https://clearlinux.github.io/clear-linux-documentation/latest/reference/system-requirements.html

All lead to 404 errors, along with other links on that page.

And while I am checking the website out, same with the mailing list: https://stg.clearlinux.org/community/mailing-list

That gives a 403.

bah - that’s an issue. We shouldn’t have a pointer to the staging website on the production one. I’ll put in a ticket… Correct link should be Home Clear Linux* Project | Clear Linux* Project

It sounds like there have been some changes to our website back end hosting environment, which may have resulted in recent breakages (although I’m still scratching my head why). Please flag any broken links you find, or ideally file an issue on github with the documentation, and we’ll work our way through them.

Mailing list link is fixed. Downloads links still broken as a result of the move away from docs.01.org. Evaluating whether to fix it manually or programmatically.

Could be a file permissions issue (ownership, or non executable > chmod 755).

Happens often when (partial) backups are zipped instead of tarred.

It was easier than that - the old setup assumed a /latest folder which we don’t have in the new setup. So all the URLs with /latest were giving 404s.
In the end we had someone go through all the URLs we could find on the website and manually edited them. There are still some in the readthedocs template itself, but we’re going to change that configuration to remove that ‘latest’ capability (we never used it anyway).

Let us know if there are still any broken links

Hello.
Category items under the search box are lost as attached.
Is this new specification or something problem?

Thanks for the head’s up. This looks like a side effect of recent security updates to our Content Management System on the website. They show up when logging in as administrator. We’ll see if we can get it fixed.
