Distorted graphics on Live image i915

I love CLear Linux OS and try to install it on everything I own. I am trying to install it on this Lenovo Chromebook, but the GUI is unusable when I boot the Live image.

GPU info from hw-probe (on Peppermint OS):

Atom/Celeron/Pentium Processor x5-E8000/J3xxx/N3xxx Integrated Graphics Controller

I tried adding nomodeset to the boot args and GUI didn’t come up at all.

Help?

me too having the same issue

I am running on Intel Pentium G2020 and NVIDIA Quadro RTX T400. Whenever I am booting from live usb after the init screen the screen gets messed up.

I tried with boot options like(for boot options press ‘e’ at the startup menu) →

  1. modprobe.blacklist=nouveau
  2. nouveau.noaccel=1
  3. nouveau.modeset=0

for boot option (1) the system stays at console. ie like linux bare metal server.
and for other boot options system boot into GUI mode retaining the distorted graphics.

Same thing happened to me on Anti-X(A debian 11 based minimal linux). I solved that problem using the debian wiki link - https://wiki.debian.org/NvidiaGraphicsDrivers#Version_470.129.06-2

The link basically is to update the GPU driver packages. The list of supported GPU’s are also given there. For direct link - Supported GPU’s link for debian 11

For me the PCI ID of my GPU is → 1FB2 1028 1489

I installed the necessary GPU driver packages from the Live linux console and after that Anti-X was booting into the GUI mode without any distorted graphics.

Possibly due to the links you included? It didn’t give a good reason for flagging it. I’ve reinstated the post. Sorry for the inconvenience.
