Install Fest an Universidade de São Paulo

Hello, we are enthusiastic computer science students at University of São Paulo and plan to stage a Linux Install fest next Friday, April 4th.

We would love if representatives of Clear Linux and/or Intel could attend to tell us a little bit more about your experiences with Clear Linux, customization, optimization and how Linux and open source in general made it possible.

We are consistently ranked among the best universities in the world according to THE and other outlets and would be very glad with this awesome networking opportunity.

We tried reaching out to you at i…arlinux.discoursemail.com but it failed for some reason.

Thank you very much for your time reading this

Apologies for that - it looks like one of the forum moderators made a tweak that effectively disabled that email address (possibly to mitigate email spam). I’ve reverted it now. Hopefully the new spam filters will do their job.

I don’t know that we have any Clear Linux representatives that are local to you, but maybe if someone is reading the forum and wants to chime in?

Chris

[quote]We’re sorry, but your email message to [“info@clearlinux.discoursemail.com”] (titled Inviting Intel and Clear Linux to Install Fest at Universidade de São Paulo) didn’t work.

Your account does not have the required trust level to post new topics to this email address. If you believe this is an error, contact a staff member.

I understand it is a tight schedule to plan anything or even reply to this, but we intend to hold other events like this in the future. For this reason, we would like to keep contact and maybe even plan something better with more time ahead next time, if this doesn’t bother you.

Ugh - there doesn’t seem to be a way to let anonymous emails get to the forum category without exposing them to everyone. I’ve changed the trust level and made it so any incoming post must be first approved by a moderator to eliminate the spammers, but the downside it that the category is now visible to all. Hopefully this is an ok compromise. Otherwise, we may have to just disable the info email address and rely on people making accounts on the forum to reach out to us. :frowning:

Good luck with the install fest!

Chris

Hi @asch , It is really good to hear about Install Fest. I hope that this event is a success and that you can bring more people to use CL for scientific uses here in Brazil.
