When trying to boot from ISO image (VM or bare metal) I get error:
Failed to initialize loopback device for rootfs.img
ISO integrity check is successful, but further boot of live environment ends with kernel panic
I checked on versions:43490-43520 (server version too)
CL-live 43480 boots normally
I got this exact kind of issue BTW. Since it was my very first time with Clear Linux, I just settled with 43470 for now which doesn’t manifest this issue. I haven’t tried any other yet. (I still am not sure if I should adopt CL).
I have the a VM with the 43470, and I’d tried to update it to the latest version, 43520, two time, and it fails to boot the kernel.
May be related to Bug after upgrade SO to 43500 version release. Stay tuned for release after 43520.
Version 43540 also does not load
Can you try the .img instead of .iso? That will help narrow down the problem.
Booting from img image works fine
OK, looks like this is just a separate problem with the ISO image. We’ll have to dig into that further. We do always recommend that you use the .img if possible; the ISO image is only intended for things like iDRAC that only support ISO.
