Apple MacPro 6,1 2013 Trash Can not compatible with Clear Linux

Environment: Apple Inc. MacPro6,1, Intel® Xeon® E5-1620 v2 × 8, 2 x AMD Radeon™ HD 7800 Series, nvme 2TB, destructive install, single OS, encryption enabled.

Tried the install of Clear Linux on my Apple Inc. MacPro6,1 2013 MacPro Trash Can from within the booted Clear Linux USB menu - install seemed to work without a hitch. However after successfully re-booting and entering the de-crypt password it boots into a lit up screen with a cursor looking bar in the top left corner (not blinking). Nothing else happens. I re-installed it twice with the same result.

Notable is that when performing the iso verification (usb live clear linux) it also failed verification as in fails to verify boot at some point. Running the clear linux compatibility scripts indicated all should be good to go. Hash signature of iso matched the 512 hash provided on the website. Also notable is that the life USB iso system boots fine and I can use Clear Linux via USB 2 (with some visual artifacts the gnome settings window when dragged around leaves a trail of windows and shows multiple overlapping shadow settings windows).

My guess is that it is likely due to some missing AMD GPU drivers since the the Gnome shell gdm3? cannot start properly.

Does checksum is invalid when you run sha512sum over the .iso downloaded?

checksum of the downloaded iso was valid, so I assume that means all the data was downloaded in the right place and that the iso used was in the correct shape mostly

Have you upgraded the entire system after installing it? What happened with another Linux distro?

AMD GPU is an open-source driver. You can check out at this link. Maybe you mean a closed-source AMDGPU Pro driver, but ClearLinux does not support it by default because it’s closed-source software. You have to perform this step handly.
