So third time trying to install - got past the not recognising network issue, now it stalls at downloading required packs, but NONE were selected.
Just doing a basic default install. I did see another user had similar issues and a dev gave an alt download to enter into terminal and I did that , but it still stalls at this download required packs?
Can someone help here or is this forum just the sound of crickets whenever someone get s stuck when Clear Linux install is so obviously flawed!
Unfortunately, there’s not a lot here for us to go on. Have you looked in /root/clr-installer.log
for clues?
Sorry I can’t give any more info other than the installer routine stalls at that particular point - left it sitting like that for 90 minutes before giving up and pulling the power lead (the only way to get out of it)
It’s happening with me too. Checking netstat, I can see it’s connected to a server in Germany, but not much traffic is flowing. I even tried the older ISO that is recommended (but not linked to properly), and the same thing is happening. I’m going to guess it’s a server issue, rather than a user issue. I had hoped doing a minimal install (no extra packs) would eliminate the need for downloads, but it still needs them. Unfortunately this happens sometimes when things have internet dependencies, and it might just be a case of “try again later”.
I don’t know if this helps you, but you’re not alone, so I don’t think it’s something we can fix if the problem is due to a server somewhere else in the world.
And I may have spoke too soon, because my install just finished. I did have to wait, and it did seem to be doing nothing, but it did just complete for me.
FYI for others finding this via search.
This also happened to me. Ran integrity which loads it up anyway, ran installer, gets to “Downloading Required Packs”, says Installation in Progress. Please wait, but there’s no movement in bar, which gives the impression it’s stalled.
3rd attempt I left it and went and made some dinner, came back & it said “Installation Successful”.
