Hi
I am trying to install some software via the Software application but all I get is ‘pending installation’.
I specifically wanted ‘marktext’
There are no diagnostics that I can see.
Can someone please help.
gnome-software logs to the journal. Take a look there to see if there are any helpful logs journalctl /usr/bin/gnome-software

Same here in my workstation at work. It actually installed everything (after some time), but keep indications as “Pending Installation”. Could be beneficial if details were provided as in swupd, which works much better.
I went to the Software web site and installed using the instructions from there.
flatpak install flathub com.github.marktext.marktext
This worked fine.
I could not get any data from journalctl you may need to help me a bit more with that one.
Where is the journal.
How do I view it.
How do I search it to find what gnone-software is doing…
I am not new to linux but it is not an area I have covered before (I normally do my work in mint).

I’m having the same issue too from a pretty fresh install. If I try to install something through the software manager it goes “pending install”, and never does anything else. If you switch to the installed tab it shows the application with an install button. when you click the install button it ask you if you want to remove the application even though it isn’t installed. I was able to install a couple packages before this started this, but now i can’t install anything with the software manager. Then I installed httpd using swupd I had no issues.
